Mr. Donaldson, online dating enthusiast and recent divorcé, was sure that his new screename, Hung, would convince potential companions that his nether endowments stood several notches above the competition, and yet the absence of profile enquiries gave him an inchoate sense that he misunderstood something about the community he had joined; only after months of alienation and ostracism would he learn that fellow members of the Diviner Matches site were ignoring the meaning of his chosen name and instead analyzing the letters according to the unforgivingly reductionist principles of onomancy.
