Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 2037
crenelation, wallflower, calumet, olio
He is very much a wallflower, this Mr. Wilkes, and you will not find him at races or shows, but you might catch a glimpse of him among his true friends, the olio of animal likenesses – a lemur, an ostrich, a starfish, a pony – in his beloved topiary garden, if, that is, you approach 52 Eve St. silently, keeping dead-still as you glance through the crenelations in the shrubs that barricade the property, waiting until the reclusive collector emerges for his mid-afternoon smoke, when you might see him puffing anything from a corn cob to a Sioux calumet.
