Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 2150
sinister, impetuous, plummy, engram
Zach Torritolle, highly trained but now near stuporish, bolted up from the squeaky cot and tore impetuously at his stylish plummy Nike sachel (with not-so-innocuous contents: his lifelines of 8,000 euros, friendly Glock, five worn passports) but all the clues remained mute, as did the old blurry mirror in the dimly lit water closet (whatever that meant) with the contused right eye, dried blood in his nares, and forehead abrasions; but, what pounded his head like a bad rap bass was “la rue de… la rue de…”, the only flicker of an engram that could help him remain alive in something more sinister than he ever bargained for.
