Perhaps his cortex harbored some cockamamie engram that caused him to remember umeshu as the choicest, the plummest of wines, but this neural infelicity was no excuse for impetuosity, in my opinion, and I began to have sinister thoughts when my dinner companion rushed to order the beverage despite my warning and promptly passed it to me, complaining he couldn't drink it as, alas, it was too sickeningly plummy.
