Quandary Resolution 2286
guerdon, ding-dong ditch, bathetic, gung-ho
At first Luke was gung-ho about his position as a door-knocking evangelist, sure that he would receive his guerdon in heaven, but as routine pleadings with heretics grew tiring, he took a bathetic dive from mission to mischief, becoming Pleasantville's foremost practitioner of the ding-dong ditch, a comically abbreviated transaction that saves considerable time for evangelist and evangelee both.
