Quandary Resolution 2317
milliner, narwhal, lucid, ambisinister
In a rare lucid moment, Ahab confided to me that he thought perhaps he had missed his calling: he had apprenticed to a milliner as a boy, but the man's constant derogatory remarks had left him feeling ambisinister (though his fedoras, while not strictly symmetrical, had a certain dashing appeal) and in frustration he signed onto an Arctic ship hunting narwhals, and after that first fateful encounter with white whales whatever aptitude he may have had for turning a hat brim was lost to history.
