In delivering his valediction, the outgoing CEO credited himself for recent revenue growth (a boon due more to industry tides than any actions of his own) while eliding the outcomes for which he could claim genuine responsibility, most notably the resignation of the so-called Linchpin Committee (a group of volunteers working to unite the company's fragmented departments) after his new compensation policies made helots of its already overworked members.
