Quandary Resolution 2512
gazette, hypernatremic, fulvous, epicene
In the attic I found a brittle, fulvous fragment from 1845 of what is still our local rag, The Saltpans Gazette, reporting alongside other trivia the unpalatably hypernatraemic flavour of a sea-monster recently caught and consumed on board, and including guarded mention of some apparent ribaldry among the tars as to its uncertain gender - whether epicene merman, or hoydenish mermaid.
