Professor Silvermine's thousand-page History of Photography was delivered to my house in three beautiful ebony leather-bound volumes, but I found the chapters on the daguerreotype, calotype, collodion and cyanotype processes too lengthy, prolix and confusing and decided to look for another shorter History with fewer useless ancillary details.
