Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 2560
usufruct, armigerous, savant, prescience
Whether it was uncanny prescience or good old-fashioned insider trading, no one could tell for sure, but suffice to say that there was once a man in Boston who made a large fortune and who became a pillar of the community by investing successfully in corporate takeovers, but when he decided that his new wealth made him armigerous and entitled him to the usufruct of all the buildings in Louisburg Square, his ill-conceived coat of arms featuring a lobster embracing a vulture invited a deluge of ridicule and opprobrium against him and he was from then on known as Beacon Hill's idiot savant.
