Quandary Resolution 2719
pariah, skerry, parable, akimbo
When Senator Kerry was looking for an internet domain name to promote his Presidential campaign, his manager came up with the not-so-brilliant idea of reserving the name ‘skerryforamerica.com’ (skerry short for senator kerry) and of uploading a picture of the senator and his wife, their arms akimbo and intertwined in front of a giant bottle of ketchup, but it all proved too much for more sagacious minds who argued that 'skerry' was too close to 'scary', and the manager was finally banished to a skerry in the Andaman Sea where, unbowed, he turned his brainchild, skerryforamerica.com, into a blog on island living, that is until the end of 2004 when the Asian tsumani submerged his computer and convinced him to return to Boston where he lived on as a pariah of the Democratic party, a parable which should teach us all not to call any politician skerry or not to live in the Andaman Sea, or certainly not both.
