Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 2766
bootstrap, hymeneal, ken, osmose
We were all there--Boots, Trap, Hyme, Neal, Ken, Osmose, and myself--and Ken was giving one of his famous speeches; and as if to illustrate a point, he leaned down and pulled up his bootstrap, saying in his deep, sonorous Sam Elliott basso voice: "Boys, there comes a time in every hymeneal scenario when a husband and wife have to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps and face the music; when they need to rely, not on the ken of their forefathers or parents, but on their own range of vision, their own sight, their own view, their own range of perception, their own understanding, their own knowledge; because I'll tell you somethin', boys--(and here one side of Ken's handlebar mustache rose up in a sidelong grin)--it sure as hell ain't gonna happen by osmosis."
