Ladies and gentlemen, at the behest of Mayor...of, uh, Mayor, um...well, at the behest of the Mayor, I've been asked to say a few words about...about, uh...Mr....um...(confound this blasted anomia!)...about a man who needs no introduction, let's put it that way--a man who has been called "venal" by no less an authority than...than, uh...what's-his-name, you know, that guy, the one with the...with the hair...DAMN IT...listen, folks, if I seem a little splenetic, it's only because I got hit on the head by a wrecking-ball this morning, and I'm still recovering, but not to worry: soon I'll be back to the same old...er, the same old...uh...you know, whoever-I-am...the same old me, is what I'm saying.
