Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 2884
necrology, chlamys, deleterious, leitmotif
To the Editor: I have observed with regret that my late friend, the esteemed classicist Achilles Blenkinsop, has not received mention in the necrology - an inexcusable omission, I submit, for, in addition to his undoubted academic eminence, he was a colourful University character, striding across the quad always in the same draughty chlamys, brandishing a spiked punt pole, crooning some Leitmotiv or other from Parsifal, and ofttimes spouting Ancient Greek with a matchless purity of accent far from deleterious to the improvement of today's young minds.
