We had found ourselves stranded intermontane in a broken-down Russian jeep, with the immediate terrain decidedly unpropitious, being strewn with fallen rocks that frequently obstructed our progress; but Ivan was not in the least perturbed, for with a few expert turns of his finely-calibrated torque wrench he had us up and running again in no time, slaloming through the debris - what a prize tovarish!
