After receiving a windfall Annie Oakley plane ticket and tips about searching for amber on the beaches of Lithuania, I consulted my onomasticon for the correct spelling of my chosen destination, and was disconcerted to see a dire warning about the bandersnatch which roamed the sands in search of tasty human prey.
