The syzygy foretold by the prophet was fast approaching, and the two kingdoms – the one from the verdant valley, and the other from the desolate tramontane – for countless generations diametrically opposed in so many ways, were working hard together to avoid the impending calamity, when the future of the world was cast in doubt by the discovery of the apocrypha by shepherds seeking shelter in a mountain cave.
