Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 3349
cacique, inquiline, strudel, salvo

My grandma makes the most amazing apple strudel (her secret ingredient: Metriocnemus knabi, an inverterbrate species of inquiline which inhabits the Sarracenia purpurea plant--it gives the strudel a zesty "crustacean" flavor no one else's has), and I remember one year, she made a huge batch of the stuff as a sort of salvo for Hyman "the Dredel" Turtletaub, the mobster who ran the Upper Left Side in those days: for as it turned out, the cacique's reputation had been tarnished by accusations of zoophilia (later proved almost entirely baseless, I'm happy to report), and only a sit-down "apple strudel feed" could bring the Six Jewish Families to the bargaining table to heal the bad blood.
