Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 3637
discomfit, fan death, knee-jerk, chelonian

The night the Chelonian appeared in my bedroom holding that electric fan, I was at a loss to decide which was the more horrifying: the fact that giant turtle-men apparently existed, and one of them stood in my midst at this very moment; or the fact that the creature clearly intended for me to suffer "fan death" by turning on the appliance as I slept (my knee-jerk reaction was to rush the squamous bastard right then and there: maybe body-slam his turtle-ass and send him sprawling helplessly backward onto his shell, thus discomfiting him and buying me time to dart out the door and run for help; but instead--curse my politeness!--I made the fatal blunder of asking him to join me in a bowl of turtle soup--an egregious faux pas which brought his full chelonian wrath thundering justly down upon my ill-mannered pate).
