Quandary Resolution 3639
discomfit, fan death, knee-jerk, chelonian

After the family members who had lingered to play cards following supper were discomfited by the hotel manager’s tales of fan death during the hot and humid summer months in Seoul (although this may have been a ploy to urge the guests to use less electricity), we were amazed when Uncle Rupert, who was often ridiculed behind his back by many of us for his chelonian slow responses, had a knee-jerk reaction to this information and rushed upstairs to rescue Auntie Gert.
