There was a huge row at the train station in Bilbao after the leader of the Basque separatist movement suddenly appeared, standing on top of a passenger car, and began a long spruik which was quickly followed by a lively hue and cry among the gathered passengers and railway workers, but when the Guardia Civil arrived to quell the explosive situation, they were unable to decipher what had happened, since the local citizenry would only use their particular argot and appeared not to understand Spanish -- plus, to add insult to injury, the hunted terrorist then pulled off a well-orchestrated escape during which he literally flew away from the depot, like a man on a flying trapeze.
