Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 3799
orthogonal, much of a muchness, hypnagogic, gambit

For my opening gambit, I pointed out that the twins, Perfecto and Defecto Alizondo, were much of a muchness, virtually indistinguishable except for one key feature: Defecto possessed an extra finger (for a total of eleven), and this freakish digit sprouted not from his hand but from his neck, jutting outward orthogonally from the area near the base of the throat, just above the left collarbone (it was said that as Defecto drifted off to sleep at night, just as he was passing through the hypnagogic state, the finger would at times wag itself faintly, gently tickling Defecto's neck, so that the drowsing shepherd suddenly started back awake again; and in this bizarre manner the supernumerary finger gradually asserted its unholy dominance over Defecto).
