Quandary Resolution 3823
flaneur, have Van Gogh's ear for music, eschew, skirr

Flim Flam Sam was the flaneur of Greenville, and could often be seen lazing about in doorways or on park benches, cigarette in hand, until the day he decided to eschew smoking because of the continually rising price of cigarettes, whereupon he became so jittery that he began to skirr all over town while singing to himself, but since he had a Van Gogh’s ear for music – and actually couldn’t hear very well at all – he barely escaped being hit by cars when he crossed the street, although it was hard to decide if the drivers were actually targeting him to end his horrible caterwauling.
