Those two old arch rivals, Siegfried and Roy, began with the noblest of intentions for their ultimate contest -- logomachy, a battle fought entirely with words, no violence, no suffering, no killing – a Panglossian idea for the best way to wage war – but as the logophiles fought on, one of the combatants was felled by a surfeit of words, Webster volant, a flying dictionary launched by his frustrated opponent.
