Quandary Resolution 4038
jazz, paradigm shift, sedulous, fabulist

An early clinical trial at sea, followed by the publication of a scientific treatise, were some of the sedulous efforts by ship’s surgeon James Lind to show that fresh citrus fruits could prevent scurvy, but jazzing up the diet of the common sailor with a few squeezes of lemon or lime was such a paradigm shift that many considered the Scottish doctor to be a fabulist, and so it took more than forty years before the practice was adopted by the British Navy.
