Quandary Resolution 4039
jazz, paradigm shift, sedulous, fabulist

Mycroft Sussman was a fabulist, but he was a sedulous fabulist: he wove fables about e'erything from what his pet chicken Roy had said that morning, to his own supposed career as a world-famous jazz clarinetist, to the paradigm shift occurring in the world at that moment (evidently people were suddenly realizing the Amish had been right about e'erything); but he spun these yarns with careful perseverance, with diligence of application and pursuit; and it was this quality which attracted Marcia's attention--that, and Mycroft's legendary ride through her kitchen on a Shetland pony, and the awkward leap he had made through her closed glass door and into the backyard pool.
