Our formerly zealous crime fighting neighborhood flatfoot began walking his beat with a lugubrious mien after a citizen’s committee issued a spleenful public assessment of the city’s police force, which left me incensed long enough to overcome my chronic writer’s block and pen a scathing op ed piece against the fault finding group, while including a great deal of praise for our local men and women in blue.
