Quandary Resolution 4102
marmoreal, jump down someone's throat, tincture, bollix

A marmoreal composite was used to create a statue of Venus rising from the clam shell, as in Botticelli’s painting, but the project designer jumped down the throat of the painter who bollixed his directions about applying a tincture of pigments to her face and hair when his use of undiluted primary colors resulted in a goddess who was a veritable painted lady.
