Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 4465
sang-froid, orgulous, taradiddle, also-ran

"Now let's take a moment to organize, to come up with a plan," I urged this rabble of youth activists, trying to maintain some sang-froid against their impatient desire to put up anyone and everyone who might run for office, regardless of their inexperience, lack of reknown, limited financial resources, and so on; "oh, that's just an excuse we've heard over again and again, to prevent us from making progress," was their orgulous response; strategy and cooperation must have seemed like so much unnecessary taradiddle and hoo-hah, an impediment to their goal of obtaining immediate results, not concerned that their candidates would end up on that all-too-familiar pile of smaller party also-rans soon forgotten by an amnesiac public.
