Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 465
pother, poltroon, finesse, diaphanous
As an investigator he proved to be nothing more than a bullying poltroon so completely devoid of finesse and engulfed, as he always was, in a pother of fetid pipe smoke with skills so diaphanous as to be nonexistent that were it not for the poetic licenses of Conan Doyle and his “companion” Watson he would have withered into obscurity before my genius. Sincerely, M.
