We’d sneak out after dad went to bed, buy kebabs from the streetside vendor outside the theater with the two rupees mom secretly handed us, join the hundreds of groundlings (people with more money sat on benches), make little mounds of the sand to sit on, giggle as someone invariably nodded off stertorously, and watch the second show (late night showing) with dropped jaws and without an iota of care.
