Gregor was a successful tractator for the textile guild in Bremen, regularly supplying the merchants with a foison of silks and other fine fabrics from the East, but he lost a lucrative contract for a new weaving contraption he brought back from China after the Rube Goldberg apparatus fell apart when he experienced an alarmingly loud bout of borborygmus during a sales presentation.
