Quandary Resolution 5528
palmer, fons honorum, plaintiff, lingua franca

The plaintiff was the king’s own son, who asked how his father – even if he was the fons honorum – could confer a title upon a palmer who begged his way from town to town during his religious ramblings and seemed unable to communicate in the lingua franca, and nobody was more surprised than the prince to hear that this itinerant monk was his long-lost brother, previously known for his prodigal ways.
