At eleven, I thought it made complete sense that Father Johnson and Mother Rose
had a pied-a-terre in town, far from the ruckus of her convent where the Sisters, robed in scintillating sacerdotals, danced gaily
and sang Sapphic songs, so I didn't understand why the older students sniggered about
it like it was something flagitious.
