It never took much to get Claude started; the slightest reference to heels would invariably start him on a fifteen-minute polemic on the stupidity of shoe whores and the pointlessness of trying to titivate by decorating ones feet, in which he would wave his arms wildly until whatever exotic watch he happened to be wearing that day -- perhaps his Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon chronograph, with its rose gold case and custom umber dial -- threatened to fly off his wrist.
