Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 601
vatic, go the extra mile, triskaidekaphobia, lapidary
We remembered the manager’s unintentionally vatic observation that Henry was "always willing to go the extra mile" when the company headquarters moved from Fayetteville to Philadelphia and poor triskaidekaphobic Henry, forced to use a roundabout route to avoid Route 13, ended up dying in a thirteen-vehicle pile-up (occasioned by the overturning of a tractor trailer bearing a logo of a stylized black cat and the lapidary slogan "SINCE 1913").
