Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 684
artiodactyl, circumnavigate, martinet, panjandrum
An artiodactylic Malay mouse deer (smallest of the even-toed ungulates and, more importantly, going by the name of Babette) was skittering across the marble floor, trying to stay out from under the feet of His Honor the Mighty and Terrible Panjandrum of the Housekeeping Staff who was majestically circumnavigating his splendid office, followed by two nervous, squeaking assistants, all of them together dreading the approach of Her Excellency the Emperor's Enforcer, who was known to be a thoroughly intractable martinet when it came to allowing anything that might be considered "dinner" to be named and kept as a pet.
