Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 7092
faience, saleable, anneal, greyhound
I looked on Ebay for some earthenware
I saw some faience that was much too dear
I looked for something saleable elsewhere
But nothing caught my eye for half that year.
Then suddenly a paper by my plate
At breakfast time, before I was awake
Annealed my fervent wish to purchase make
And I sprang up like greyhounds from the gate;
I ran the distance to my local shop
And didn't count my pennies 'til I stopped,
Breathless was I, as in the shop I popped,
And bumped the vase! And to the floor it dropped!!
