It wasn't clear if his exculpation clause nullified the restraining order, so we figured that was enough ambiguity to bring in a MacGuffin: the heroine would find her ex-boyfriend passed out in her curtilage, with a bangover no less, moments before she hears of her latest boyfriend's murder at the concert the previous night.
