Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 851
ad hominem, plenary, proscribe, gregarious
When Professor Hart arrived in cavernous Echo Hall to deliver his Plenary Lecture on the Future of the Humanities, he found not the full student body in attendance, not even one student body, but rather a collection of mobile devices positioned to record his voice (meanwhile gregariously buzzing, flashing, and chirping amongst themselves), whereupon he issued an unprintable ad hominem attack against Charles Babbage, Alexander Graham Bell, and Steve Jobs, and thenceforth proscribed the use of anything digital in the lecture hall, an impassioned announcement that was cut short by the Für Elise ringtone of his own iPhone.
