Quadrivial Quandary: Logophiles, Rejoice! Each day we give you four unusual words. Can you fit them all in one illustrative sentence?
Quandary Resolution 871
goulash, breviary, asterisk, pablum
The Breviary, far from being a short easily digestible liturgical pablum, is in fact not at all brief (being four volumes totaling almost 8000 pages) and is a mystifying goulash of the prayers, stories, psalms, and Masses for every possible occasion on any conceivable date for the next hundred years, bottom-heavy with footnotes and peppered with asterisks directing the reader to thorny thickets of exceptions, exclusions, stipulations, and qualifications.
