We found the stowaway curled up underneath a pile of frayed moonrakers awaiting the sailmaker’s attention, and we soon learned that he had gotten there by greasing the right palms in the port of Tahiri - baksheesh that actually turned out to have paid double, since we were now enriched by one journeyman baker (whose fealty to his master had not survived four years of abuse and overwork) for whose great skill with bread and cakes we came to be extremely grateful.
